Is construction was made with the help of CDSL , they helped us financially to buy part of the material, and the parents of the children helped also economically and also to build the classroom, is a simple classroom, but now the children have a roof where safe and quiet study, the children are very happy now, the parents are very grateful for the help received from the CDSL. was used: metal, wood, cement, nails, for the construction, ,
The total cost of the construction is more or less than 1500.00 quetzals in its entirety, because it is also necessary to paint and electricity,
Thanks to the best sister ever we have a new project with the CDSL. Three young girls in the community have received new leather shoes and backpacks for school. Helping kids to stay in school is a priority for Malimbe so we hope to see more of this and learn in the process.
The latest project of the CDSL is planting güicoy.
Here Ladislao Puluc is preparing the soil for planting.
During the rainy season the farmers will line a trench with plastic to collect rain so they can use these caches later for irrigation since there is no reliable source of water nearby. When these caches are gone they will need to carry water in backpacks from a source about 15 minutes away.
The planting team is enjoying a well deserved rest and snack:
Here is a video of the planting process:
Here I think is some guicoy which is farther along in the process. Perhaps almost ready to harvest
